Who We Are

Victoria Judge LCSW-BACS

Victoria Judge

Taking the first step toward a better life can be a daunting task. I strive to create a therapeutic environment that fosters positive communication and understanding, where individuals, couples and families can work though difficult issues and develop healthy, productive coping strategies. I employ techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Motivational Enhancement Therapy and Family Psychoeducation.

Some areas of interest include supporting individuals, couples and families coping with loved ones with special needs, family members coping with substance abuse and/or mental health issues, and marital/family conflict. I provide an open and judgment free environment where all individuals, couples and families are welcome.

I have over 10 years' experience in the mental health field, serving clients with a variety of challenges, including substance abuse, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, as well as counseling families struggling with substance abuse, mental illness and physical health problems of their loved ones.

I believe deeply in the ability for people to change and renew. My 13 years of experience working with women, men, and families who have experienced addiction, physical, sexual and emotional trauma, homelessness, and mental illness affirms this belief.

I utilize mindfulness techniques as well as cognitive behavioral and motivational enhancement strategies to provide people with the tools to make positive and life sustaining changes. My professional experience includes individual and family work specializing in addiction, trauma and women’s issues. I also worked in program development.

I earned my Bachelors in Therapeutic and Community Psychology from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, CA in 1999. I moved to New Orleans in 2001 and earned my Masters of Social Work from Southern University at New Orleans in 2009.
